COURSE OVERVIEW
Emergency First Aid at Work is a one-day qualification designed for workplaces where a first aid needs assessment identifies the requirement for an Emergency First Aider.
This 6-hour course provides learners with the knowledge and practical competence required to respond safely and effectively to a range of workplace first aid situations. Training is delivered on-site at your workplace across Edinburgh, The Lothians and Fife to minimise disruption.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
During the Emergency First Aid at Work course, learners will cover:
Responsibilities and reporting
Assessment of the situation
Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
Resuscitation and AED awareness
Choking
Burns
Bleeding control
Shock
Minor injuries
Epilepsy
Basic hygiene in first aid
Anatomy
Training focuses on clear decision-making, safe practice and confident responses in emergency situations.

Duration: 1 day (6 hours)
Delivery: On-site at your workplace or chosen venue
Minimum age: 14
(Learners cannot assume responsibility as a workplace first aider until age 16)

Where a first aid needs assessment identifies the requirement for an Emergency First Aider, this course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.
The course equips learners with the skills and knowledge required to provide prompt, safe and effective first aid treatment in emergency situations.
