COURSE OVERVIEW
Anaphylaxis is a severe and potentially life-threatening allergic reaction that can develop rapidly and requires immediate action. Triggers may include foods, insect stings, medications, or other allergens.
The Management of Anaphylaxis course is designed for qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders. It provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to recognise anaphylaxis quickly and manage the condition safely and effectively until emergency medical assistance arrives.
Training is delivered on-site across Edinburgh, The Lothians and Fife.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
During the Management of Anaphylaxis course, learners will cover:
Understanding allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
Recognising the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
Assessing a casualty experiencing a severe allergic reaction
Safe use of auto-injectors
Managing anaphylaxis until emergency services arrive
Post-incident care and monitoring
Training focuses on clear decision-making and confident, timely action in an emergency situation.
